Bournemouth plan to hijack Willy Gnonto deal from Leeds United

Bournemouth are considering hijacking Leeds United’s deal to sign Willy Gnonto, sources say Football Insider.

The Yorkshire giants are in talks to sign the 18-year-old FC Zurich striker and have agreed personal terms with him.

But Bournemouth are ready to ambush their Premier League rivals after their technical director Richard Hughes watched Gnonto in action against Hearts on Thursday in their Europa League qualifier at Tynecastle.

Leeds remain in pole position to sign Gnonto as they look to bolster their attacking options but are wary of interest from Bournemouth.

Football Insider revealed on August 21 that Leeds had offered £4million for the striker, but Zurich are holding out for a fee of around £7million.

Bournemouth have Dominic Solanke and Kieffer Moore as their only senior strikers and only Moore has found the net this season.

Leeds haven’t had the same struggles, scoring seven times in their first three Premier League games, including three against Chelsea last weekend (August 21).

This season, Gnonto has made 11 appearances in all competitions for the Swiss side, scoring once.

In his 73 total senior appearances, Gnonto has scored 12 goals and registered nine assists.

He also already has four senior Italy appearances and one international goal to his name.

Bournemouth have had a mixed start to the season.

After winning their opener against Aston Villa, they suffered defeats against Man City and Arsenal.

In other news, a Leeds United pundit has released a ‘huge’ claim from Jesse Marsch after an ‘unbelievable’ thing he saw.
