A Swansea-based business education resource provider has celebrated a successful first year in business.

2B Enterprising, which has developed a series of enterprise education resources for elementary schools, including books, activities and lesson plans, has engaged with more than 6,000 elementary school students in 136 schools and delivered over 220 classes across Wales and England in its first 12 months of trading.

2B Enterprising founded The Bumbles of Honeywood learning resources that help teach young children about entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship and essential life skills by following Honeywood’s Bumble bee family as they together they face a series of challenges.

In addition to teaching the next generation about business, the resources cover a wide range of topics, including sustainability, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion.

Elementary schools can apply to receive The Bumbles of Honeywood resources and can access them by partnering with a local business who can also bring information from their own organization to the school to elevate the learning experience even further.

2B Enterprising’s Founder and Creative Director, Sue Poole, said, “We’ve had a fantastic first year in business at 2B Enterprising.

“I have been overwhelmed with the appetite from businesses to support schools in their area and beyond by providing them with the funding necessary to receive The Bumbles of Honeywood program. We have also had great feedback from the schools we visited on how the children gained confidence, increased their knowledge of the business and improved their teamwork skills at the same time.”

To celebrate the first anniversary, the 2B Enterprising team returned to one of the first schools to join the program, Pontybrenin Primary School in Gorseinon, to see the children again and find out what they had learnt. Pontybrenin Primary School has been linked with Swansea-based investment company Swansea.com.

Jacob Hughes, Group Managing Director of Swansea.com, added: “It was great to be involved in 2B Enterprising’s first anniversary celebrations today at Pontybrenin Primary School. We really enjoyed our involvement. with all the schools and our team had great satisfaction in having helped shape the next generation of entrepreneurs.

“It has been fantastic sharing our passion for business with the children and answering their questions about what we do. We were amazed at how talented and creative they are and we look forward to working with them again. as we continue our relationship with 2B Enterprising and the schools.”

Philip Williams, Principal of Pontybrenin Primary School, said: “We were impressed with the quality and originality of The Bumbles of Honeywood resources. They are easy to use and the lessons delivered by the 2B Enterprising team have captured our students’ imaginations as they navigate problem solving, teamwork and creative thinking. We are grateful to Swansea.com for partnering with us and look forward to more of our children accessing The Bumbles of Honeywood as the school year progresses.

Over the past year, 2B Enterprising has engaged with over 90 partner companies in industries including construction, hospitality, finance, technology, retail and tourism.
