Coronavirus: 281 cases recorded in Dorset in past 24 hours

A TOTAL of 281 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Dorset in the past 24 hours, according to the latest figures.

The latest government figures show 281 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 25.

In the Dorset Council area, 159 new cases have been reported. Since the start of the pandemic, 25,388 cases have been confirmed in this area.

In the latest rolling seven-day period for the Dorset Council region, there have been 1,064 cases of Covid-19, with a case rate of 280.2 per 100,000 people.

A total of 122 new cases have been recorded in the BCP Council area, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic to 44,824.

The seven-day rolling period for BCP is 928 cases, with a case rate of 233.8 per 100,000 people.

During the coronavirus pandemic, 70,212 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Dorset.

Elsewhere, the New Forest area has recorded 49 new cases of the coronavirus. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic stands at 12,082 in the New Forest.

The seven-day total for New Forest is 407 with a case rate of 226.6 per 100,000 people.

In the UK, there have been a total of 31,348 new cases. There have been 7,631,233 confirmed cases recorded in the UK since the start of the pandemic.
